Analysis of No one cares less than I by Edward Thomas
This poem was written right at the end of May 1916 (probably on the 25th or 26th of the month). By this stage, Thomas – who was serving in England as a map reading instructor – had probably already decided to apply for a commission, which would – he knew – involve an overseas posting. This application went through the following month.
